Enhanced Gameplay

Buff yourself with a true hidden super-weapon: the world's most sophisticated Wi-Fi routers.

Keenetic is super-serious about domestic Wi-Fi.  We understand the growing importance of gaming in the daily lives of users, whether playing on super-fast PCs equipped with the latest video cards, big brand consoles, or mobile phones and tablets. Top-notch gaming gear is only half the story, even the most skilful e-warriors have no chance to conquer online without a low latency congestion-free internet connection. Choosing the right router, one which optimizes network throughput, can play a significant role in your scores — and family harmony.

Keenetic has a range of Mesh Wi-Fi routers — including VDSL and 4G modem routers — that tick all the boxes needed for a happy gaming experience:

  • Minimized ping, lag and latency

Broadband performance is not just about maximum speed. It is also about latency or delay, which often gets forgotten in the drive for greater and greater internet access speeds. In our experience, for online gaming, voice and video telephony and conferencing, latency affects performance and the end-user experience far more than raw speed.

Your home network might have an idle round-trip ping time of 10 milliseconds, which looks quite good, but under working conditions and high load, you might experience round-trip times of 600 milliseconds or more. That is 60 times worse network responsiveness, a root cause of poor user experience, including frustrating game interactions.

Furthermore, the Internet network infrastructure has many devices that process packets, and each device has buffers inside to ensure proper packet forwarding or routing. When these buffers in the network are massive and filled up, they don't improve throughput but introduce delay instead. This phenomenon is called Bufferbloat.

To fix Bufferbloat, Keenetic implements proprietary Active Queue Management algorithms based on CAKE, and shapes the traffic to the line's current capacity, reducing network delays and minimizing latency while processing network buffers as effectively as possible. You can set the current capacity of the line manually, or Keenetic can monitor the line and dynamically adjust settings to maintain the lowest latencies possible.

  • Game-aware IntelliQoS priority management

To prioritize incoming and outgoing traffic, Keenetic uses seven priority queues in each direction, from Low (7) to Top (1) traffic priority.

An example:  the simplest way to ensure the best gaming experience on your PC or console is to assign the network host to the Top (1) priority queue. However, in this case, the whole traffic from the specified host will go with maximum priority, including gaming and non-gaming data. So when a game updates, a vast download served via the Top (1) priority queue will severely impact network performance.  A better solution would be to separate different traffic types into different priority queues. So, when someone on your network transfers a large file while others are playing or conferencing, the router uses independent gaming, conferencing, and file exchange traffic queues to ensure the set application priority.

To distinguish applications, Keenetic has its unique IntelliQoS feature. IntelliQoS integrates a Rohde & Schwarz R&S®PACE 2 traffic inspection engine to provide detailed insights into network traffic with application-level visibility. IntelliQoS detects the traffic of about 150 of the most popular games and online gaming platforms to boost performance in the most relevant way. Keenetic prioritizes the traffic of recognized games according to the IntelliQoS settings and the remaining, uncategorized, traffic according to the registered device priority queue.

With IntelliQoS in place, you can get a great gaming experience with high throughput and low delay simultaneously. Additionally, Keenetic can save you money on internet connection tariffs since you won't notice a difference between 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps connections in real-life gaming, streaming, or working from home, unless you move terabytes of data daily.

  • Hardware offloading for better throughput

All Gigabit Keenetic routers feature a hardware network accelerator engine to boost the routing performance of wired hosts, even when IntelliQoS is enabled. The offloading in KeeneticOS increases throughput by not depending on the CPU for forwarding decisions while freeing processing power for other tasks. The wired routing throughput will be about 950 Mbps for a Gigabit Internet connection with offloading enabled. For professional e-sports, wiring a Gigabit Ethernet cable to your gaming machine is the optimal connection option.

  • Simultaneous game and VPN functionality

Keenetic supports simultaneous game and VPN functions allowing specific devices to use VPN connections, including consoles and smart TVs, while others use Internet access without a VPN. Choose your ideal VPN connection type among IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec, OpenVPN, SSTP, IKEv1, IKEv2, IPIP, EoIP, GRE or Wireguard.

  • Customisable powerful Mesh Wi-Fi

If you play on mobile gadgets, Keenetic has the perfect Mesh Wi-Fi system implementation for you. Add Mesh Wi-Fi extenders to your network and arrange home devices between different Mesh nodes and Wi-Fi bands to improve air throughput. Use wired connections between the main router and extenders to boost performance further. The Keenetic Mesh Wi-Fi system runs on DSL, 4G, and Fibre routers with embedded modems. Such integration helps to minimize overall network latency and gives a single point of control over the home network and internet connections, which is impossible on other mesh systems that require an external modem. The multi-node Keenetic Wi-Fi system will ensure seamless roaming throughout your home regardless of its structure and dimensions.

  • Non-stop plunge with Multi-WAN

Keenetic gives you the freedom to use more than one ISP, regardless of the connection types and signed-up service packages. A crucial stand-out feature of Keenetic is its capacity to connect easily to multiple ISPs simultaneously for failover and load balancing using 4G, DSL, Ethernet, Fibre, and Wi-Fi links. If you experience a break in service from an ISP, your Keenetic router will automatically and seamlessly switch to a different working ISP, so the game will continue as smoothly as possible. Another unique configuration option is to use only one Internet connection for gaming and a second Internet connection for other online activities.

  • Stay ahead with continuous improvement baked-in

Because the Internet and networking are constantly evolving and to avoid rapid obsolescence, all new Keenetic devices come with the same level of continuous support and improvement as we have grown used to with our smartphones and mobile devices. Each Keenetic device sold qualifies for at least three years of quarterly operating system updates. Updates include bug fixes and security measures, exciting new features and support for the latest peripherals.

Each Keenetic device can automatically update itself on a user-defined schedule with user consent. A dual flash memory design for OS backup ensures fail-free automatic upgrades. When a new version of the OS is available, the device will download and store it in flash memory, and verify it in the background without interrupting operations. Then the Keenetic restarts running the new OS version and the restart takes about a minute only. So automatic updates cost your network only one minute of downtime during the scheduled interval.
