Keenetic has officially launched the long-awaited Stellar 6 (KAP-650) outdoor access point — a Wi-Fi 6 device rated at AX3000 with PoE support. Designed for professional deployments, it delivers reliable high-speed wireless connectivity in outdoor environments where stable network performance is essential, regardless of weather or temperature conditions.

The Stellar 6 is built with outdoor durability as its top priority. Its enclosure is rated IP65 when mounted vertically on a wall or pole, providing complete protection against dust ingress and resistance to water jets. An integrated heater ensures reliable startup and stable operation even at temperatures as low as −40 °C, while the device continues to perform in temperatures up to +65 °C.

To withstand years of outdoor exposure, the enclosure is made from ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate), an engineering-grade thermoplastic selected for its exceptional long-term durability. Compared with conventional ABS plastic commonly used in indoor networking devices, ASA offers superior resistance to UV radiation, precipitation, yellowing, and cracking. It also withstands exposure to oils, salts, acids, and alkalis, provides excellent impact resistance, tolerates operating temperatures up to 105 °C, and reduces static charge buildup that attracts dust.

The protection extends beyond the enclosure. The Stellar 6 features industrial-grade safeguards, including 6 kV surge protection against transient overvoltage events such as nearby lightning strikes and 8 kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. Its Gigabit Ethernet port is shielded, and a dedicated grounding terminal provides additional installation safety.

Powered by Keenetic's proven hardware platform, the access point is equipped with a dual-core 1.3 GHz processor and 256 MB of RAM. Its dual-band radio subsystem delivers wireless speeds of up to 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band (2×2:2) and up to 2402 Mbps on the 5 GHz band using 160 MHz channels and a 3×3:2 radio configuration with an additional internal antenna.

Five dedicated RF amplifiers compensate for duplexing losses on the supplied external dual-band antennas while providing sufficient gain for directional or sector antennas in point-to-point bridges and wide-area outdoor coverage deployments.

For simplified installation, the package includes wall and pole mounting hardware together with a passive 48 V PoE injector. The access point also supports IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power delivery up to 18 W, making it suitable for professional network installations.
